My name is Katie and I am a returning sophomore this year at Kent State. I enjoy school very much and am excited to be involved in many different areas of collegiate life. The subject that is currently occupying the majority of my time is the nursing program, which has become my major interest of study. My long term goal is to earn my master’s degree as a nurse practitioner specializing either in pediatrics or women’s health. Aside from school, I am also involved in the cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams at Kent. Since I first began running at the age of 15, running has definitely evolved from a hobby into a passion. I spent a lot of my summer training for this season and enjoy both the physical and mental benefits that running provides.
Outside of school I love spending all the time I can afford outdoors. Sports are definitely a big part of my life and my favorite time of the year is football season. I love to hang out with my friends where we often do small projects to keep ourselves entertained. Some of my more grandmother-like hobbies include making dinner for my family, baking, sewing, and playing the piano. When I’m not in the kitchen or sitting in a rocking chair (which I don’t actually do) I love doing risky things and am always up for a challenge. I am passionate about traveling and I cannot make up my mind about what big trip I want to make during my college career. Just about every place I come up with sounds as equally fascinating as the last. Overall, I am for the most part an ordinary student who is living life one day at a time.
